From March, all residents will begin to receive their new waste and recycling bins in preparation for the new collection service, starting on 1 July 2019.
To order additional bins outside the standard service, you’ll need to wait until you receive a letter from Council with a unique code matched to your household. Letters will be delivered a few weeks before your new bins arrive.
What bins are in your standard service?
The standard domestic waste service is designed to service the needs of the majority of the community, reduce waste and keep costs down.
Single dwelling households will receive the standard number of bins:
- 1 x 80 litre red garbage bin*
- 1 x 140 litre yellow container bin
- 1 x 140 litre blue paper bin
- Up to two 240 litre green vegetation bins (one bin will be delivered - you can apply for a second bin free of charge)
Ratepayers can order additional bins on a user pays basis.
In your standard service, each Northern Beaches household also receives:
- • 2 x on-demand bulky goods collections per year
You also have access to Kimbriki at no charge to drop off:
- • Up to 300kg of vegetation per day
- • Up to 100kg of bottles, containers and cans per day
- • Metals including degassed refrigerators, freezers and air conditioning units
